Oxfordshire Fire & Rescue (who arrived and then were called out!) and Thames Valley Police came in to showcase the roles of the Emergency Services in line with the school's "People Who Help Us" topic throughout the Spring Term. Children witnessed the fire-engine being used at full capacity with a mock building rescue and they were able to get up close and personal with tools used by the police in emergency situations: handcuffs, police van, walkie-talkie and road equipment amongst others. The sirens were in full throng too and a good soaking from the fire hose ended what was a really informative, interactive day. Thank you to Wheatley Retained Firefighters and PC Dan Bennett for taking time out of their busy schedules.
