PTA FOGMS

FOGMS (Friends of Great Milton School) is an active and well supported PTA. We work hard to promote positive links between home and school. We bring children, teachers, parents and caregivers together at a variety of social events throughout the year to have fun and help raise money for the school. All parents, carers and staff are automatically members of FOGMS.

Raffle or auction prizes

Prizes are a great way of raising money for the school throughout the year through raffles or auctions. If you can suggest a company that we should approach or you are even able to donate a prize yourself, let us know!

Get involved as little or as much as you like!

The FOGMS committee runs a whole host of events and fundraising activities and is always open to new ideas from the school community. We meet at least once a term in The Bull, Great Milton and we always welcome new members.

The help and support of our members make our efforts a great success, so please do get involved. Even if you can't help with organising or volunteering at occasions, you are making a really valuable contribution just by coming along to our events!

Walking for our school

We are very grateful to Rosie Holliday, mum of two of our Great Milton children, who walked 100km along the Jurassic coast in May, and raised £400 for our school!

You can find out more about her journey and sponsor her by clicking here:

If you are taking part in an event and would like to fundraise for our school, we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch using the contact details above.

Spring Clear Up

April's clear up was well attended and helped to tackle a number of jobs, making the outside area a happier and safer place for our children to play. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to help us.

New Reception

We were very pleased to fund new upholstery for the seating in reception, which had become badly stained and muddy from many years of good use. It makes a much nicer welcome to our visitors and reflects the pride we all have in making our school a great place to be.

Your support makes a difference. Thank you.

School Clear Up

We hold these events twice a year (typically at the start of term in September and April) to help the school in maintaining the grounds and fixing lots of little jobs which need to be done.

We are lucky to have a school with such a great outside environment but it can take a bit of work to keep under control! Thank you to everyone who helps to make the space safer and more usable for our children in their play times.

Do join us for the next one, no experience required!

Pond Transformation

Still image for this video

The “Project Pond” team spent all of a Saturday morning transforming our school pond from an overgrown wilderness back into a pond!

They worked tirelessly until dark. They discovered plenty of pond life, moving frogs, newts and even a vole. And not only did they transform the pond, they also filled in muddy puddles around the school and removed condemned play equipment. Corinna topped it all off by planting up some beautiful pots!

Special thanks to Helpful Hiring in Thame who gifted us use of an excavator and dumper truck - these were invaluable. Thanks also to AW Mobbs of Wheatley who kindly gave us a discounted rate on the shingle.

Finally, a great big thank you to the Project Pond dream team - Atila Gereb, Jim Bullen, Dan Powell, Marc Powell, Will Calderwood, Nicola Bennett and Nick Nixey ... and especially to Corinna Sidhu for project managing it all.  Amazing job, thank you!

See the story in our short film and photos. Watch this space for more pond updates.  Fizzy Kemp has drawn up some exciting plans for phase two of the project. Next steps - get the kids involved!
