What a wonderful day of sport we had at Great Milton School! We celebrated the talents and efforts of all our students throughout the day and home time saw the departure of some extremely tired but fully exercised children!

The day started with our KS2 students participating in competitive events: 60m sprint, 300m distance, throwing and jumping events. These were used to select our team to represent Great Milton C of E Primary School at Area Sports on Friday 14th July at Horspath Sports Ground.

After break, our KS1 children came out to take part in their competitive races, fully entertaining everyone with their mix of drive, effort and sportsmanship! A very supportive crowd of parents willed them on in beanbag, egg & spoon and running races.

Our afternoon saw what we call our “Carousel of Activities” which enables our children to take part in team games. Red, Blue, Purple, Orange, Yellow & Green teams gave a fantastic display of competitive team spirit in a whole host of fun games including bunny hopping, water racing, football dribbling, howler throwing, beanbag & skipping races. The afternoon culminated in the ever-dramatic relay race, where the teams supported their team-mates on in a thrilling finale, which had the potential to dramatically change team scores literally at the finish line. It was the BLUE team who took final overall honours – well done the BLUES!

Thank you to our amazing students for showing such team effort, support and participation, thank you to the staff for organising such a fun day, thank you to FOGMS for providing lovely much needed refreshment, and thank you, as always, to parents for coming along to support your children and the school. Fantastic!
